A Weekend of Nothing
My first full-on weekend and I did nothing.
Well, went out with colleagues Friday night 'cause we all needed to let out some steam after these chaotic 8 weeks. I slept til 12 and spent most of Saturday recovering from a hangover headache.
Sunday was more productive. I went out and got groceries. Then came back and cleaned. I also wrote a different blog entry between hanging up the clothes and putting new ones in the washer. It's much more serious than a report of my weekend, and...... I'm stuck! I don't know how I can continue writing and finish it.
I also made dinner last night, and I thought I'd make some light dishes knowing how Bill has been trying to keep up a healthier diet. It's been a long time since I last cooked, so the result was disastrous! Two out of the three dishes I made turned out horrible. One was too salty to even let it touch your lips; the other was so tasteless you wonder maybe you should mix it with the salty dish (but you can't 'cause one's fish and the other is pork). The third dish survived...... well, it's be pretty difficult to screw up a salad. Bill graciously tried to eat what I made. I thought I saw some tears in his eyes, but it could just be from the saltiness. When he finally got up to get some hot sauce for the tasteless pork I joked, "Good thing we're not on our first date, eh?!" He didn't say anything.
In fact, the real good thing is that we didn't invite Dorion, Sharon, and Roberto to have dinner with us before the movie. They had no idea how lucky they were having escaped from some pretty gross-tasting food that would've made the burnt cheesy popcorn taste good. Aside from some red wine, they probably didn't notice the big bottle of water Bill and I were sharing throughout the night.
Yup! That's how salty the fish was.
