Shiny Heads Spur Searches

Shaving your head and rocking the bald look is supposed to lift the final veil of vanity. The cleansing routine is designed to smooth out any follicle-related wrinkles that crop up in life. Recently, queries on "bald," "shaved head," and "bald women" have all sprouted in Search.

Britney Spears kicked off the resurgence in hair relinquishment when she infamously shaved her head. From blonde goody-two-shoes to bald bad girl, the transformation culminated with widely circulated pictures of a freshly shorn Britney. Searches on "britney spears bald" are cooling off, but the term still places among our top 500 searches.

After the wave of searches on "britney spears bald pictures" subsided, shiny heads popped back into Search after Jack Nicholson took his customary front-row seat at the Oscars with a clean-shaven look. Queries on "jack nicholson bald" jumped 154% and spurred curious searchers into action. Oscar watchers wondered aloud into our Search box resulting in queries such as "jack nicholson cancer," "jack nicholson health," and "jack nicholson sick." But there's no need for alarm—method actor Jack is just getting into character for a role he's filming.

Who's next in line to shed their vanities at the blades of sharpened clippers? We'd like to know who you're dying to see sans hair...
