WE FOUND A PLACE!

It’s bright and clean. It’s got a balcony. It’s on the top floor, so we have access to the rooftop. It’s got an elevator. It’s near the MRT. It’s within our budget. Most importantly, it’s in the neighborhood we want.

For those of you current and ex- Taipei-ers: it’s on the other side of Xinshen South Road from NTU and across Roosevelt Road from Taipower Building. It’s in the area where Starbucks, Wecare Bakery, Great Century Movie Theater (and the Egyptian dude’s Shwarmas), the everything store, Eslite Bookstore, the Witch House, Norwegian Wood, Café Bastille, Lane 284, CO2 (Café Odeon), Bongos, and tons of other restaurants are in (phew~).

For those of you who don’t know anything about Taipei: Inside the neighborhood there are tree-lined streets, little mom-n-pop shops, and a variety of interesting restaurants, bars, and coffee shops. On the outskirt of the neighborhood are Starbucks, a bakery, a cheap movie theater that features second-run movies, and Taipei’s biggest bookstore. It’s kind of like the Commercial Drive of Taipei, only it’s not a big wide street like the Drive.

Now can you understand why Bill and I are so excited that we found a place there?

  2. Congrats you guys! I usually get my Bill updates from our mom, but I haven't heard this one yet. Your new place and the location sound wonderful. I have so many places I long to see through travels, yet I never go anywhere. If it means anything to you, I want to head out your way and check out your new digs!
I haven't read your blog in a while and I just got it off the family site and will be pouring over it in the next few days.
I hope you are well and enjoying the company of my brother now that he is home. You have many people praying for you all the way across the world.
    Love,
    Julia (Bill's "lil sis")
