All Hail the Lord of Catan

It was Friday. It was sunny. It was a good day to go to the museum.
With Roberto, we set off to go to the National Palace Museum to see the special exhibition brought on by the British Museum. Despite the fact that we saw 3 full busloads of people heading to the Museum at the bus depot, we decided to press on. At about 200 meters from the gate of the Museum, the bus we were on scraped a four-door that was trying to squeeze by, so the driver had to get off the bus to sort things out. We walked the rest of the way. It was a Friday. It was sunny. It was a good day to go to the museum. We didn’t mind.
Then we saw this gigantic poster on the major road leading to the museum. It was so big, so obnoxious, and so WRONG!

Bill chuckled, “That’s Taiwan fer ya.” He was referring to the mediocrity and lack of attention to detail here. Roberto was speechless. I’m not sure if it was because he was in shock or he was used to it. Regardless, I thought it’d only be appropriate if we took a picture of it. While I was standing there, a sea of visitors flew by and everyone was speculating how (and some wondered why) the poster was hung backwards. Some thought it was artistic; others sneered, “What an embarrassment!”

At the end, we didn’t go in to the Museum because there was a long line to get tickets, followed by a 60-minute wait to be allowed in to the Museum.

We met up with Dorian and Sharon for pizza at Alleycat and went to Café Odeon to play a game of Catan.

It was ugly and merciless. At one point during the game, Dorian pissed off his own girlfriend and there was no redemption for him after that. The strategic alliance formed by Roberto and Bill was ever so fragile. Sharon, seen in this picture, had to utilize her army to muscle people out of her turf.

Three hours and I don't know how many Belgian beers later, seconds before the stroke of midnight, we had a winner!

Nah~~ Not these two.

All Hail the Lord of Catan: Mr. Dorian Berg from Canadiaaaaa..........

Behind the Scene stuff:
As soon as hailing ended, Sharon took off to the loo. For Roberto and Bill ......

It was business as usual.
